The current state of the Democratic Party

I want to say this post is going to be free form. I will try to keep it as structured as I can so you are not left at the end going "What the hell did I just read", but just please be aware from the offset things may shift around as I am just going to stream of consciousness this. But I have to get these thoughts out.

There has been a lot of talk lately about the DSA and Abdul El-Sayed and Hasan Piker and the "Frightening rise of COMMUNISM". A great deal of the discourse has really exposed 1. How little people truly understand Socialism. 2. How Islamaphobic people really are (there is the interesting case of a MAGA hopeful, blessed by fuhrer Trump who happened to have a "Muslim" sounding name who tanked due to this that I should mention at some point later. This is a reminder to myself, bring this up) and 3. How desperate the Democratic Establishment truly is as they see the writing on the wall.

I wanted to talk about some of these things. While the Moral Majority and the Religious Right are primarily responsible for the fucked up state of things in this country, there is still a good portion of blame that can and should be chained directly to the Democratic Establishment. The James Carvilles, the Nancy Pelosis etc. For decades they chased this mythical centrist that truly never existed and constantly tried to move the party more towards the right, to court voters who were NEVER going to move towards them and away from the GOP. They also never missed an opportunity to fumble every ball that was in their court. When the GOP would play dirty the Dem leadership would always cling to "Procedural norms and Established norms" rather than play the fucking game the GOP was playing. Their refusal to play the game that was in the front of them, time after time after time helped swiftly move us into where we are. Of course its more nuanced than STRICTLY that, but lets not be pedantic.

The Democratic Establishment in the past 3-4 years has thrown the anti-genocide, LGBT (mainly the T), and other minority groups under the bus left right and center. All the while almost entirely being beholden to their AIPAC mega donors and offering no real meaningful opposition to the Ocher dotard and his cohorts. So when candidates like Mamdani and El-Sayed come onto the scene and speak to actual issues affecting actual people and not taking the blood money of AIPAC, your average person is taking notice and putting their support there. How you know things are sinister is when the Establishment types in the Democratic Party start parroting the same shit about the DSA and its candidates as Fox News. But at the same time it shows how weak the party is. And the GOP is going through this as well. In selling their souls to the MAGA cult they realized that the beast has grown too strong for their control and that base is more racist, xenophobic, trasnphobic and fascistic than they have ever been. Then you have establishment dems saying they are going to do everything they can to undermine TRUE progressives like those of the DSA etc. Its not new. The DNC has been sticking their hands on the scale for a long time. We saw it the past 3 elections. And if they think that will endear them to leftists and progressives, they truly have learned NOTHING from their recent glaring failures. Which we know they haven't. Their post mortem shows their incapacity for learning from their mistakes.

But I go to the recent interviews of Fetterman and Carville where their ignorant screeds against the DSA and leftists like Hasan Piker show they, and the monied powers that own them, are genuinely scared. They are scared that if enough DSA or DSA adjacent candidates get in, they may have to actually govern.
